The Heritage of Uxbridge Festival
The Heritage of Uxbridge Festival
We designed and delivered The Heritage of Uxbridge Festival for Hillingdon Council as an opportunity for visitors to celebrate the town’s rich and diverse past and provide their views about a proposed heritage app.
The commission included:
- Consulting with and involving local stakeholders including Brunel University, Uxbridge College, Pavilions Shopping Centre, Hillingdon Chamber of Commerce and client Hillingdon Borough.
- Designing and delivering the event, risk assessments, event planning and insurance
- Commissioning art students at Uxbridge college to make a series of art collages of famous Uxbridge residents through the ages/decades to use in a retail heritage trail
- A Children’s Comedy Club to pay tribute to Brunel University’s former alumni, comedians Lee Mack, Greg Davies and Noel Fielding. Children took part in workshops to perfect their joke-telling skills and took to the pop-up mini stage to test them out on the crowd.
- Art workshops in the Pavilions Shopping Centre with Star Wars glitter tattoos and special effects face painting to pay tribute to former Uxbridge resident John Stears who was an Academy Award-winning special effects expert
- A Battle of Britain assault course and war bunker activities to acknowledge the local Battle of Britain Bunker
The festival demonstrates how we strive to tailor events to celebrate local distinctiveness, no two events are the same!
