Sidcup

A vacant betting shop provided the ideal space for In Store for Sidcup, a collective comprising 16 start-up and expanding local Kent businesses.  The shop was part of a suite of business support projects delivered by Retail Revival for Bexley council, which also included shop front improvements, a free business support programme and a capital grants scheme. Retail Revival met with 120 entrepreneurs over six months to discuss their business ideas; 16 were selected to receive free space and a small grant for stock and equipment to help them grow their businesses. The shop was fitted out by Architecture 00 to provide a flexible layout for retailers and designers and a full programme of business support was delivered from a large training room in the rear of the shop.
