Penge
Pengetout was a pop-up shop and workspace where nine new and expanding local businesses shared free space to sell interesting products and services. Retail Revival project managed the initiative and approached the landlords and agents of 10 vacant shops in Penge to find a suitable unit for a pop-up shop on the high street. After an open call for entrepreneurs, a group of artists, makers and retailers were selected to sell pictures and cards, mid-century furniture, upholstered chairs, cushions, Danish fashion, jewellery, gifts and haberdashery. Business turnover exceeded expectations and three new businesses were launched in other vacant shops in Penge as a result of the project.
Pengetout was part of the ‘Penge, Open for Business’ programme for London Borough Bromley; Retail Revival also provided free training and support to new and existing local businesses from the training room in the rear of the shop.
