Croydon Streatery
Retail Revival transformed a former bed shop in Surrey Street to become the Surrey Streatery; a street food hub, arts space and events venue. Six new street food businesses were each given a grant of up to £3,000 towards the cost of a bespoke kitchen made by spacial agency Exyzt. We provided a business training programme comprising food handling, health and safety, First Aid, digital marketing, business planning and healthy eating modules and six months of rent free space in the heart of Croydon. Our creative kitchen hosted cookery demonstrations, weekend cookery workshops for children and guest chefs.
Four local artists and designers were selected to occupy the huge mezzanine and we hosted the Croydon Belly Laughs comedy club and multiple large events to capture a slice of the evening economy.
Client: Croydon Council, funded in partnership with the Greater London Authority.
