Stevenage Old Town Live Music Festival

Stevenage Old Town Live Music Festival

Retail Revival was contracted by Stevenage Council to deliver a programme of business support in the Old Town of Stevenage, this included the delivery of an event to welcome people back to the High Street after Covid-19.

When designing the event itĀ became obvious to us that this part of the town was a perfect location for a music festival. The Old Town is home to Coda Guitars, myriad bands, and the Practice Roomz studios, where bands rehearse and record.

Over 5000 people attended the event, local businesses reported record takings, the event was delivered safely and to budget. Retail Revival then worked closely with local stakeholders to set up a limited company to enable them to run the event privately, with the support of the council. Old Town Live is now an annual event and has fast become one of the most popular and largest of its kind.

Retail Revival was responsible for:

  • Designing and delivering a 12 hour music festival, with 50 live bands playing onĀ 8 separate stages across Stevenage Old Town in bars, pubs and from on-street marquees and a 50 stall street trading and food zone with family activities
  • The event plan, risk assessment, branding and marketing
  • Working with multiple stakeholders including the police, emergency services, local authority, highways and businesses
  • Reporting at Special Advisory Group meetings
  • Road closures, re-routing of bus services, resident communication
  • Recruiting and managing volunteer staff
  • Event evaluation
