North End Road Market Regeneration

North End Road Market is one of the oldest in London, it is a traditional market offering value and convenience. The market was declining, with few traders and a poor infrastructure. Hammersmith and Fulham Council wanted to improve the market and contracted Retail Revival to complete a consultation with residents and market traders to understand their issues, ideas and opportunities to adapt the market to attract new traders.

Working in partnership with architects Carver Haggard we:

• Interviewed each trader to understand their issues and ideas for change
• Designed and delivered an on street shoppers survey to gather the views of 600 visitors to the market
• Held a market exhibition to show early plans for the market
• Delivered a report with recommendations for future interventions
• Created and populated a traders website with profiles of each trader, application details to take a stall in the market, recipes cards listing ingredients from each market stall and the latest news page
• Supported the traders as the public realm and market infrastructure works were completed during 2021/2022
